John is a Director of the practice and Head of the Asset Management Department.

Having qualified in 1986,John is primarily involved within the Landlord and Tenant discipline, providing lease renewal and rent review advice to both landlords and tenants relating to a variety of different property types, but with a particular emphasis on large retail properties used for food and non-food retail use in both in-town and out-of-town locations.

He is directly responsible for all aspects of the Asset Management service and also involved in providing proactive property management advice relating to a variety of developments throughout the country.

Jon joined Mason Owen in 1988 having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1979.

He is a Director of the practice whose primary role is to provide advice on all asset management related matters to the Ethel Austin Property Group together with a number of other clients including property companies, trusts and private individuals.

Jon's particular field of experience lies in maximizing value to Clients portfolios through strategic planning having recently been involved in the refinancing of the Ethel Austin Property Group.

For over 30 years Jon has built up an expertise in Commercial property matters throughout North and Mid Wales whilst overseeing Clients portfolios nationwide.

Jon has retained a hands-on approach to negotiating rent reviews, lease renewals and more recently regearing opportunities and he provides regular valuation advice.

Mark qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2000, and joined Mason Owen in 2002.

Now a Senior Partner of Mason Owen, Mark specialises in property asset management, advising retained landlord clients on all aspects of property management. Mark advised Dransfield Properties Limited in the set up and management of two brand new in town shopping centre developments at Sanderson Arcade, Morpeth, and Marshalls Yard, Gainsborough. This has included a full advisory role for the establishment of management systems including service charge accounts.

Mark also advises individual clients on landlord and tenant issues, including the negotiation of rent reviews and lease renewals.

Dilys a senior partner at Mason Owen, who heads up the property management accounts team. Part of her role is to ensure that all Client monies are dealt with in accordance with the RICS rules and regulations.

With over 27 years experience in her field, 17 of which at Mason Owen. Dilys was involved in the initial set up, implementation and accountability of the rental income, turnover rents and service charge for the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield, in addition to advising on such matters for the Centro Shopping Centre in Oberhausen, Germany.

Specialising in service charges, she carried out independent audits on behalf of Clients to ensure lease compliance and accuracy.

Dilys has worked closely with property management software companies in advising them on the development of their specialist property software, and was responsible for the implementation of the Tramps system at Mason Owen in 2007.

Phil joined Mason Owen in 1985 having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1973.

He is a consultant of the practice and provides asset management advice to various clients specialising primarily in multi-tenanted offices, retail parks and shopping centres. He is also involved in more complex mixed use developments which often incorporate a residential element above the commercial premises.

His major experience involves properties in central Manchester and Liverpool but he also manages the Scottish area for various clients of Mason Owen across a variety of commercial uses in that part of the country.

Steven joined Mason Owen in 2005 as a graduate with a non-property related degree. After completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Surveying via a correspondence course from the College of Estate Management he began studying towards becoming chartered and passed the Assessment of Professional Competence in April 2011 to become a Member of the RICS.

He works in the Asset Management Department at Mason Owen which offers clients a comprehensive range of services for their property portfolios, including property management, rent reviews and leases renewals, rating appeals, compulsory purchase claims, building surveys and valuations.

Steven is particularly involved with property management where he deals with a portfolio of varied properties. His main focus has been on shopping centres in Kendal, Morpeth and Gainsborough, but also manages offices and other retail units on behalf of clients.

Steven is also able to advise both landlord and tenant clients on matters such as rent reviews and lease renewals and has also been involved with rating appeals as well as providing valuation advice to funders and clients.

Sarah joined Mason Owen in 2008 as a graduate from Liverpool John Moores University. In April 2011 she completed her Assessment of Professional Competence and has now qualified as a Chartered Surveyor.



Sarah is part of the Asset Management team and manages a portfolio of properties including various retail units, shopping parades and multi-let office blocks in Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria. She is also assisting a colleague with the management of a Shopping Precinct in Cotgrave, Nottingham. Throughout her training and development she has assisted with rent reviews and lease renewals on properties within the portfolio.
